Netherlands Israel trade relations

Not everyone knows the world’s first stock exchange was established in Amsterdam, in the Netherlands, already in 1602.  The Dutch ‘Verenigde Oost-Indische Compagnie’ (the “VOC”) is only one of many testimonies to the vibrant trading and business history of the Netherlands and it’s long-standing reputation as a leading “hub” for international trade, maritime industry and not least of all the renowned ingenuity of the Dutch.

Located on the North Sea, the heart of North-Western Europe, the Netherlands continues to maintain its special place as a centre for international business, and is among the first ‘ports of call’ for foreign groups seeking to expand operations globally, by making the Netherlands into its jumping board.  Its tax climate, the nature of its people and its famous open-mindedness remain among its main attractions.

When Spain and Portugal in the 15th century expelled many Jewish people many migrated to the Netherlands or the newly independent Dutch provinces who welcomed them. After settling in the relative safety of the Netherlands and its provinces, they felt comfortable to practise the Jewish religion and traditions again. And the tradesmanship and international connections of the Netherlands flourished with their arrival.

Tax Strategy & Advice Netherlands in Israel

The Netherlands Knowledge Center at YEtax is under the management of our veteran professional Henriette Fuchs, born and raised in ‘Holland’. Henriette obtained her degree in (tax and international tax) law at Leyden University – the oldest university in Europe and spent the first 8 years of her professional career in Amsterdam.  Mrs. Fuchs is licensed both in Israel and in the Netherlands, an advantage over other Israel based advisers who may not practise in the Netherlands. In the past she was requested to speak at the Amsterdam Stock Exchange, today “EuroNext”, for an audience of 60 Israel companies considering presenting themselves to the public in the Netherlands.
